Emaline: The Movie

Exciting stuff!!! I can't believe it took all night to put this up...silly internet. Holy cow...what am I saying exciting??? Now she'll be running around the yard by next weekend. I can't believe she is growing so fast. Did I also mention she is almost half the size of her Nana? I like to blame the special growing elixir her doctor tells me to give her.

Lt. Dan the Singing Dog

Josh has been playing all his "cool" music for Emaline so that she'll be exposed to something besides Baby Einstein and The Backyardigans. So after dinner last night he played some good tunes for her and had Lt. Dan to accompany him on the vocals. Now when Josh says, "I love you!" in a high pitch voice, LTD starts howling away at him. Emaline likes to watch as her daddy and doggy put on their show. I especially like the photo of Josh singing along. Watch out America's Got Talent, LTD and Mr. Little are comin' at 'cha!!

p.s. Emaline really likes INXS and Morrissey--go figure.

UPDATE: Monkey (aka Emaline) is Walking

As promised, here are the first pictures of Emaline walking on the web! Video will soon follow...once I figure out how to do it from this computer (not at home). Enjoy!!

Monkey (aka Emaline) is Walking

Well the day has finally come where our little girl is walking. Emaline can walk from one end of the room to the other in a beautiful wobbly kind way! I don't have pictures up just yet cause I forgot the camera again....bad mommy. But I'm sure by the end of the day or early tomorrow morning we will have something posted.

New Bathroom!

For those of you who haven't seen it, this is the new polished off bathroom on the main floor. My sister Stephani's friend, Brian, came in and did all the work (Josh demolished the old before I had a chance to photograph). I think he did an excellent job. We love it! Can't wait to call him for the master bath, but as promised, Josh gets to work on his garage.

Josh's Garage

So...now that the 1/2 bath is finally done, Josh has decided to "supe up" his garage and make it his own personal workspace. I thought he was crazy for trying to build it from the ground up, but so far him and his friend, Joe, have really gotten things together. There will be huge cabinets and a middle table area for him to work on his other projects, though I really have no idea what those are at the moment. We'll keep you posted on his progress and if this will start him on his path to being my super handy husband. Keep your fingers crossed!

I must say that Emaline sure was impressed with her daddy's handy work. I've never seen a child so fascinated by someone ever. I love it.

As our summer days are dwindling down (wish the heat would do the same, it was 105 today!), we took some time to head to our neighborhood pool. Pepere decided to close up shop one week day afternoon and have some cool down time with his girls. As you can see Emaline is developing the same caliber of hair as her father...

Trip to City Museum

As our time with Natalie (my niece) whittled down, we decided to take her to The City Museum downtown cause it's a little bit more eccentric than your normal museum. This place has so many areas for a kid to climb around and burn off energy, its not even funny. Although, we didn't get a chance to climb around the outside structure since it was 100 degrees outside. We did get to see a new part of the museum, their World Aquarium, which really was cool to see a few sea/land animals up close. They had stingrays, sharks, alligators, lots of turtles and even chinchillas! I recommend this place to anyone in STL.

There is even a little area of "oddities" that is quite interesting. Hence the giant underwear picture :-).

The Simpson Frenzy

I went ahead and "Simpsonzied" the whole family this past week. I know they didn't get Emaline right on, but I think Josh and I look pretty good. If you would also like to spend useless time and energy on this as well, go to the Simponsize Me website here.

Six Flags

Last Thursday we took my niece Natalie (from CA) to Six Flags since we never get to see her! It was a lot of fun and I felt like I was a teenager running around eating my weight in french fries and ice cream. Although, holy thermometers Batman, it was hot! Thankfully, we stopped into the water park, Hurricane Harbor, to cool off in the afternoon. I can definitely wait to take Emaline there though....lots of little kiddos running around like chicken without heads. Also, don't think I could handle a toddler/child during that heat. We didn't have to wait in long lines though since it was so hot and a Thursday. Natalie got to ride all the big coasters, so that's what matters. :-)

This past weekend we went to our friends Kim & Geoff's wedding at Blackburn Park in Webster Groves. It was really laid back and low key. We ended up bringing Lt. Dan since it was requested by the bride and we chowed on apps and adult beverages. Kim made all the favors herself, decorated sugar cookies that were great! Josh was Best Man and did a great job.

Emaline got a new chair! Super fancy with her name on it and everything. She likes to eat cheerios and drink milk while watching mom take pictures of her. I know, its pathetic. I'm sure the photographer in me will slowly get lazier as more children come along.

Well....I've revisited the blogging idea and decided to showcase our lives on this site. Hopefully it will go better than the last attempt. By the look on Emaline's face this might not work out. Anyways, I'll try to keep things going on this page--plus lots of stuff gonna be happening for us soon. A fixed porch, new windows, possibly siding, etc. Lots of work done on the house. Not to mention everything that little Lady has been up to. So keep checking back!
